This course is to develop studentsí understanding of fundamentals of acoustics and its applications. Through this course students should be capable of modeling and analyzing engineering acoustics problems. Topics include: Fundamentals of vibrations. Vibration of continuous bodies (string, bar, plate). Acoustics wave equation. Acoustics impedance, power, and intensity. Spectral descriptions of acoustics. Transmission and reflection of sound. Acoustic radiation. Room acoustics. Introduction of acoustics and vibration measurements. Introduction of boundary element method.
