Special Topics in Environmental Engineering II

Course Description
It is designed for master students of environmental engineering addressing the water supply source protection and water quality control as well as relevant topics related to water resources management of coastal cities. The specific topics that will be discussed in this class include: persistent organic pollution in water source areas and its monitoring techniques; laboratory analysis for persistent organic compounds in natural waters; slat tide intrusion to the water source areas and how to control the intrusion; water disinfection by-products and their monitoring and control; membrane filtration - a new technique to prevent from the disinfection by-product generation.
