• Participated in and contributed to the Macau field measurement program of the Pearl River Delta Air Quality Study carried out by the team led by Prof. Yok-sheung Li and Prof. Lo-yin Chan of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Intensive field measurements covering gaseous pollutants and airborne particulates at roadside microenvironments and ambient sites were performed in Macau with an aim to identify the major emission sources and establish the emission source profiles for Macau urban areas; October, 2002.
• Led two Master degree students and two third year Bachelor degree students to a research visit at University of Washington, Seattle, Washington to carry out laboratory experiments for the cooperation project “Dynamics of Gravity Currents” between University of Macau and University of Washington; August 2002.
• Participated in the two field water-quality monitoring surveys at the University of Washington under their water-quality information collection project. In the project, the University of Washington is to develop and manage a field-monitoring program to understand environmental fluid dynamics of three major lakes at Washington State, USA, particularly, for circulation and mixing mechanisms caused by meteorological and boundary forcing conditions; August 2002.
